Candice Black- AKA SweetMortal– makes weird art. With experiences of the surreal, such as hallucinations- she taps into weird imagery. Inspired by dreams and nightmares, her art pulls at the threads of reality.
Candice Black works with themes of embodiment, rebellion, and self expression. She creates using several different mediums including painting, print, collage, textiles, dance, photography, film, poetry, and prose. Her works are vibrant and expressive. Candice shows the multi faceted experience of living with a mental health condition through her art, poetry, and prose.
Candice is also a creative workshop facilitator, who encourages participants to explore their creativity in a supportive environment.
